On February 11, 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Macao Organic Resources Recycling Center project was successfully held at the project site. Leaders of the Macao Environmental Protection Bureau, Ma Youli, the Honorary President of the Macao General Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and his wife Yan Wanming, Ma Zhiyi, the Executive Director of the Amax Construction Group Co., Ltd., Shan Jianming, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Maxda Group, and his wife Bao Fengjiao, Li Fei, the Assistant General Manager of China Railway No.1 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., Tang Leping, the General Manager of Tsinghua Tongfang Environment Co., Ltd., Kuang Bin, the General Manager of Wangneng Ecology, and leaders and representatives of all parties of the consortium attended the ceremony.
The Macao Organic Resources Recycling Center project, with the mission of "green development and circular economy", actively responds to the national "dual carbon" strategic goal. By adopting internationally advanced treatment technologies, it converts organic waste such as kitchen waste into clean energy and organic fertilizers, truly achieving "turning waste into treasure". Introduction to the Macao Organic Resources Recycling Center Project
This project adopts the EPC+O (Engineering, Procurement, Construction + Operation) model, with a total contract amount of 1.867 billion patacas. With the design theme of "Future Floating Island, Sky Garden", it integrates the "island" concept of Macao and showcases the "core" of technology. The project plans to adopt the treatment process for kitchen waste of "high - efficiency pretreatment + anaerobic digestion + biogas power generation + aerobic composting", and the sewage treatment process of "pretreatment + aerobic treatment + anaerobic ammonium oxidation (DA)". It features forward - looking design, advanced technology, resource recycling, energy conservation, and environmental protection. In close cooperation with partners, the company has fully demonstrated its professional strength and profound heritage as a leading enterprise in the solid waste industry, and played a key role in providing the main process design and core technology.
The project is designed to handle 150 tons of kitchen waste, 230 tons of toilet wastewater, and 190 tons of grease wastewater per day. After completion, it will significantly reduce the treatment of local kitchen waste in Macao, promote resource recycling, improve the local living environment, and safeguard the safety of food for the people of Macao.
